War of the Planet of the Apes (2017)

If you haven't watched the previous two films you may miss a few things but not many the best recap can be said mainly by this quote by Ernest Hemmingway
"All things truly wicked start from innocence"
except with the knowledge that it wasn't innocence which carried on the war between man and ape. There were truly cryable moments and hilarious moment with introduction of a new Ape only named in self-reference as "Bad Ape" as that is what humans used to shout at him when he was in the zoo.
For those who wondered if the Apes were using proper sign-language like I did at the start, they are in fact using ASL (American Sign Language) to which I started to learn despite being English (picked it up from American TV shows) which to me felt a great achievement as I understood quite a bit of the conversations between Apes.
With Woody Harrelson being the featuring villain made it a new attitude I felt towards him as an actor as he tends to play the same or similar role and by taking this role he definatley shows that he is bridging out a bit.

I rate this terrific drama a 17/20.
 

Spiderman: Homecoming (2017)

Well, me and my siblings all went to this and well me and my sister-in-law thoroughly enjoyed the topless version of Tom Holland.
With this reboot there comes a new actor as mentioned before, a new sidekick which often didn't really occur before in the Andrew Garfield reboot and the original Tobey Maguire trilogy. However, you do see a nice plot set-up for the next film which sees Zendaya whose character is Michele reveal her nickname is actually MJ. Which previously was played by Kirsten Dunst.
This time Michael Keaton plays the villain, instead of the good guy (See Batman 1989), Tony Stark plays the replacement father figure like Uncle Bens should be (not the rice company) and extremely young Aunt May.
I love the special effects, the new Spidey suit gadgets and explotions.
I rate this a 18/20.
 

Power Rangers (2017)

I might be biased in this but I thought the film was really good. However, as a child I was not allowed to watch the TV show as my brother after watching it proceeded to try being a power ranger on the playground and to be honest I did the same with Totally Spies, anyway.

 

So this to me seemed a really awesome origin story and to be honest the Red Ranger was pretty cute and that was a hilarious prank which he set up. Elizabeth Banks plays Rita Repulsa brilliantly to which a role I had imagined would not suit her as she plays often quite preppy characters.

 

For those who don't know,

The film follows the plot of a group of five teenagers who all end up detention together, for various reasons, and eventually all meet up at a quarry, fall in, find Power Ranger quartz and come into powers which take time to truly master.

 

I rate this film a 17/20.

Before I Fall (2017)

When you combine Groundhog Day with If I Stay you get this film. This film follows the dramatic day in the life Samantha Kingston who dies at the end of each day or if she prevents her own death then another girl dies and so everytime she wakes up in the same exact day as she started. So it doesn't matter if she decides to be goody-two shoes, a promiscuous bad girl or a girl who loves her friends or a girl who loves her family it will always end up the same way.

So how does she get out of this waking nightmare? This is essentially the plot line which at each new day seems to carry a new dramatic edge that seems only positive in how it will be able to reduce you to tears. Zoey Deutch is the perfect actress and is able to truly show how a character can change and grow for the better in 1 day.

I rate this tear jerker of a film 18/20.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016)

So when Alice thought it might have been able to make an agreement in Retribution with Wesker but, it seems that was all a lie. And so she carried on with her Lone Ranger Routine until with a mission set by the Red Queen to go to Racoon City and find the real anti-virus.

However, along the way she may be betrayed, she may find out some absolutely shocking truths but in the end will she be able to stay alive because she was infected with the T-Virus.

The stunts were so extreme that the Stunt actress for Milla ended up without an arm when she did a motorbike jump and ended up with nerve damage. I have watched all of the other films and I must say that it could have been better.

I rate this film 14/20.

Lion (2016)

This tells the true story of a boy, Saroo, who got lost when separated from his brother and he ended up 1500km from his home in Kolkata, a place that he didn't speak the language and where grown men tried to kidnap him. But, eventually he was put in an orphanage until Sue (Played by Nicole Kidman) and her husband, from Australia, adopted him. Then, they adopt his brother who has rage and self-harms. Then, twenty years late you see Saroo as an adult (played by Dev Patel) going to school to be a hotel manager, he meets Lucy (Played by Rooney Mara) which intern endears him to find his family using Google Earth. The film which is dramatic throughout , which did make me cry, but, when watching it with my mum there wasn't any subtitles, and so we watched a good hour of the film just pondering as to what they may have been saying in Hindu and Bengali, it wasn't until after we realised we forgot to press that button.
I rate this film a 17/20.

Beauty and the Beast (2017)

This remake of the classic Disney princess film is what was needed for young girls to aspire to a strong independent woman, the strong undertones between La Feou and Gaston and some otheres make the film have a lighter heart when in the face of mena characters such as Gaston. TO which Luke Evans triumphantly played it in a way which made it a convincing narcissism and near psychopathy. Emma Watson's Belle truly shows what was mssing with the Disney Princesses, women can be intelligent as well as beautiful which has always been a strong supporting feature of her personality  to whihc made her my favourite Princess as a child, that and the DIsney channel program 'Sing me a story with Belle'.
Ewan Mcgrgor definatley added to the film in creating one of the best song sequences in CGI and Real picture combination with 'Be our Guest' and Stephen Chbosky, writter of 'Perks of being a wallflower' wrote the film in such as way as to not to deivate fromt he original that much howeve,r with more tension and dramatic that I ended up crying when the servants devolved into objects as well as when I thought Gaston had got Adam AKA The Beast for good. With songs sung so well that I was singing them for the next couple of days I totally commend Disney for this some-what masterpiece.
