Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

To see your mother die in front of you it can be sad and you may try running away from that. But, when Peter Quill ran away from this he ran in to the arms of an intergalactic thief and that is where it starts. Peter Quill aka Starlord is now 27 old trying to steal a mystical sphere when some bad ass evil goons are coming to get the same item. On the way to find why everyone in the intergalactic worlds wants the orb. He finds a homicidal Racoon, a sociopath looking revenge filled walking muscle, a walking, not so much talking tree and a highly trained killing machine who looks like She-hulk. The graphics are absolutely amazing as well as a star filled cast with the likes of Lee Pace, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and John C Reily. I rate this film a 18/20.

Paddington (2014)

If you were a bear who's aunt had shipped you to a different country and your uncle had just died, What would you do? Well Paddington decided to find a family or to find the owner of his hat. However, on the way he bumps into a very evil taxidermist (Nicole Kidman), a very drunk Scottish maid (Julie Waters) and a slightly too over-protective father, Mr Banks (Hugh Bonneville). It has a brilliant cast and plot though the film is aimed at children and my 6 year old got a bit scared. So take note parents it has some dark bits in it though overall it is a family-fun filled film. I rate this film a 15/20.

Quote of the week

This week's quote is 'and in that moment I swear we were infinite' this quote is from the book , The perks of Being A Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky.

I really love the film an book , The perks of being a wallflower, because it seems so inspirational for what he goes through but after everything he sees his life as better than some people and in that moment on the Bridge with Heroes by David Bowie playing he realised that this is the point of life. To not care about anything of before but, to just care about the present and in that moment you are indestructible and infinite.

Movie News update: Betty Boop Movie and Bad Boys 3

Apparently there is a Betty Boop movie which is being written and will start to be filmed shortly. This all thanks to Simon Cowell. Everyone knows of the 1930s cartoon who was like a black haired Marilyn Monroe but, she had a big heart and an annoying catch phrase. She had a cute dog and now she is going to be hitting the big screen. The rumours are saying the film is to be released within the next two years.

Martin Lawrence has officially confirmed that there will be a Bad Boys 3 however Will Smith still is keeping quiet about it. Does this mean he may be considering not being in it??? What would happen if there was no Smith in the Lawrence and Smith Bad Boys Duo.

And if Smith is not in it who will replace him??

My question to you this week is

What would you like to see reviewed on here? What would you like to be done more? More books? More music? More chick Flicks? This is up to you. If you are reading this you have a choice and if you are having people read it for you, you still have a choice?

Sharknado 2: The second one 2014

Now when the first Sharknado came out I thought OOOOHHHH not another budget film that has ridiculously funny accidental deaths. But, this is better than that because it has awesome celebrities getting eaten on planes, sharks not only eating people on the road but fire sharks are falling from the sky. A shark has a serious grudge on the main character's wife who wrote the book on how to survive a Sharknado. But, you just have to remember whenever you face a Sharknado, stay away from the water and get yourself a chainsaw.

I think this brilliant budget film is so amazing everyone should stop what they are doing and what this funny film.

  I rate this film a 17/20.

Quote of the Week

This is a new part which I am going to start to introduce.

My quote of the week will go to the book of John Green's which I have read a million times, The Fault in our stars. Even though I have not been in love this quote may some it up for people. I thank Hazel Grace Lancaster's character for this thoughtful quote.

' I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.'

This quote to me not only showed Hazel's fight for not letting people be harmed by her death, fall to pieces. But this quote told me that with every slow breath that was infused by sleep I will love even more and lessing the casualties of love is inevitable so why not let it happen rather than being afraid of the fact that it may hurt me as well as it may hurt other people. So I am going to use this quote to strive to finding my Augustus in this world we call earth because there must be a man who may desire me and there is always a person who is desiring you. It may take you a day, a week, a year or even several years but you will find that person and you will be loved with the same amount of love like Beauty loved Beast, that Pudge loved Alaska and Jace loved Clary.

Boom Clap by Charli XCX 2014.

Boom Clap by Charli XCX is one of the best movie soundtrack songs since 'A man for all seasons' by Robbie Williams. This song has the brilliant lyrics show the chemical reaction shown between Hazel and Augustus especially in AMsterdam when Hazel has finally admitted to herself that she is in love with Gus. The lyrics show various Juxtapositions and various scenes of Imagery. the video itself not only shows Charli singing on the Canal of Amsterdam but it shows scenes from the Movie which display Hazel and Gus' relationship to the full amount which can be shown without watching the movie. Though I would definitely recommend watching the movie; it's not as a chick-flick as many people say it is though there may be a part for you to cry though the men in the room most probably had something in their eyes or they have allergies which are heightened through sad scenes.

I rate this song a 18/20. This is sinceraly a creditation to Charli XCX who seems to be raving throughout the Uk and global charts this 2014.

Robocop 2014

Now as we all know there have been a lot of remakes of the old films like; Total Recall, Dredd, About last night, Fame and Footloose. Now there has been a really good remake of Robocop the 80s Arnie hit sensation. It starts of pretty heroically with Alex Murphy trying to stop a gangster type person infiltrate cops and with this double effect a hit is put on him and his partner. His partner is hospitalised and he is blown up but this will not stop Alex. He wants to be himself, help his family as well as stop the person who was almost his killer with Gary Oldman trying to fix him and Michael Keaton the owner of OmniCorp who was trying to save him also end up trying to kill him. But why? You won't find out from me so you will have to watch this. Even though this is a remake of the 1987 version though I do believe it might have strayed from the original it is even better now than before. With a brilliant cast like Samuel L Jackson and Jackie Earle Haley.

     I rate this film a 18/20.

Monday 11 August 2014

The movie world updates: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Star Trek 3, Deadpool, XXX 3. And alot more.

-Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is to come out in 2016. The first one is out 17th October 2014 (UK).

-Star Trek 3 (release date 2016) is not going to be directed by J.J.Abrams. The writer for the past 2
Roberto Orci will be directing it because J.J.Abrams is moving on to direct the Star Wars Movie 7 due to be released 18th December 2015.

- The release of a snip from the DeathPool film starring the brilliant Ryan Reynolds has raised major disturbances in the Marvel scene recently, though I can't understand why it seems really awesome . This was test footage which has been watched a lot which is the aim of the game for it's producers who wanted to see if the movie would be liked or not.

- Vin Diesel has confirmed that he will be coming back for XXX 3. Even though he was not the XXX in the 2nd film. As well as this film Diesel has confirmed he will star in Kojak though the director is still yet to be confirmed.

The World's End, Film 3 of the Cornetto Trilogy (2013)

Yes, this is yet another comedic Apocalyptic film but it isn't just that it is the last film in the 'Three flavour Cornetto' series with Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and then World's End. Gary King ( Simon Pegg) decides that back in the day they tried to do the golden Mile which is going to all of the pubs there, all 12 of tem. So he tries to reel in his life long and only friends, the same he had when they did the original Golden mile. Those friends are the builder, Steven Pince (Paddy Considine), the car salesman ,Peter page (Eddie Marsan), the estate agent , Oliver Chamberlain ( Martin Freeman), the accountant and Andy Knightley (Nick Frost). It seems that they can't have a simple pint they end up nearly taken over by Robot copies of them which help revolutionise the telecommunication added by alien species called The Network. The amazing CGI adds to the atmosphere of the comedy with also some really funny gags. Will they be able to save humanity and what will happen if they were too??

I rate this film a 17/20.

X-men : Days Of Future Past (2014)

When the Sentinels, mutant killers, are out of control, they are hunting down the mutants to much and on the verge to eliminating them all. So they get Kitty Pride (Ellen Paige) to send Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) in time before Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) killed the maker of the Sentinels because after that moment they used her DNA to make the Sentinels adapt to killing the different mutants. So wolverine finds Charles Xavier the younger one (James McAvoy) and convinces him that he's from the future but how can they prevent the Mystique from changing history forever and ending Mutant-kind as it is. You notice that al the X-men have grown into fighters and brilliant mutants who you would lend your life to. the CGI is amazing even from the first moment the film starts. With the original and new cast of the X-men series, Will Wolverine change history and prevent history repeating itself or did it play out the same as it did before? This is one of the best movies in the X-men series and it is major credit to the Marvel Franchise.

I rate this film and triumph a 19/20.

We're The Millers (2013)

Now, with a drug dealer you would usually picture a young 20-something hoodie who has no standards and doesn't do drugs him/her self. However, that is not the case for David Clark (Jason Sudeikis) who is a 30-40 something drug dealer who looks like he could be a dodgy accountant who have a fancy for his next door neighbour a now retired stripper (Jennifer Aniston) . David has to make a major collection from Mexico but, it would look extremely suspicious. But, if a 'family' go on a road trip to mexico in a RV it won't look as suspicious. They work together with Emma Roberts and Will Poulter. Jennifer has to do a lap dance, Will gets bitten on the alls by a poisonous spider and lots of other things happen in this brilliant comedy which nearly left Jennifer with a award at the MTV awards for 'The Best Topless Award'. WIth a brilliant cast which adds to the family fun of it, it will make you sides split with laughter.

I rate this film a 18/20.

This Is The End (2013)

Now when you see a bunch of actors playing themselves you think ahhhhh is it a fake documentary but no this is one of the best comedic apocalyptic films of the decade along with the World End. Though this is not about a documentary no it is about the many things that can go wrong with a group of friends on the last days of earth. With the main characters Jay Baruchel, Seth Rogen and James Franco. You will witness a new exorcist taken place with a spatula and a salad tosser, Channing Tatum being Danny McBride's bitch as well as Danny Mcbride being a cannibal and then most of them end up in Heaven with the Backstreet Boys singing 'Everybody'. This film has amazing and disgusting moments with a really famous cast. The CGI is amazing and you do loose all respect for Channing Tatum.

I rate this film a 19/20.

About Time (2013)

To find out that you can travel back in time can be extremely unbelievable but it was true for Tim (Domhnall Gleeson, Bill Wealsley from the Harry Potter Franchise), his Dad and every male in his family. That was including his father (Bill Nighy). So when he leaves home at 21 to go to the city he decides to not time travel much until he meets his true love, Mary, (Rachel McAdams) he then ends up mucking up every now and then until his sister gets injured in a car crash then, he tries to go back before his little girl was born to a party which would lead to this crash. However, when time traveling you should never travel before your kids were born because like the butterfly effect they might change and so he has to go back but let his sister live out her life until the crash and then all hell starts to break loose his best friend dates his sister, he has 2 more children and his Dad becomes ill. This film is directed by Richard Curtis who did Love Actually who adds the most dramatic and emotional music and ends up making it into one of the best rom-coms since The Notebook and Love Actually. it will make you cry, laugh and even cringe at most parts and overall it is a brilliant journey that everyone even men should journey with you.
        I rate this film a 19/20.

The To Do list (2013)

Being the ultimate nerd and control freak has always been Brandy's (Aubrey Plaza) domain but when her best friends tell her that she needs to be more adventurous her reaction is not what they meant. She decided to make the ultimate to do list of which she has to complete by the time she goes to college in the autumn. She decides to use Cameron (Johnny Simmons) and Rusty waters (Scott Porter) and other people. Set in the mid 90s as well it was quite a controversial topic then even though now its a part of every day life. This does come in front of family and friendship. With well known actors popping up in surprising places and lots of cringe worthy moments. I rate this unbelievable cringe worthy film a 16/20.

The Fault In our Stars (2014) (Film)

If you have Cancer life is basically all shit but, terminal cancer that is a whole other thing. When Hazel Grace (Shailene Woodley) is forced to go to a help meeting with other Cancer survivors or sufferers it is hard for her but then she meet Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort) she just thinks of him a Cancer survivor who is trying to give himself more Cancer by smoking. But no it s a metaphor.

This starts to give you a new perspective on life and of him. They become best friends even though she says strictly friends which is not Augustus's idea because he believes 'It would be an honour to have his heart broken by Hazel Grace.' Now Hazel is a deep in thought girl and her favourite book An Imperial Affliction which she has many questions about and has tried to message the author. She gets Augustus to read it ends up with him asking the same questions. They end up going to Amsterdam to seek the writer where Hazel eventually admits her true feeling for Augustus. The story brings a bucket full of tears to your eyes all throughout it and it is a triumph for John Green as it is his first book adaptation. I rate this film a 19/20.

A million ways to die in the west (2014)

Everyone has seen western films often with John Wayne in it with the occasional Wilhelm scream popping up. Well this is the new cowboy in town. With update language and hilarious parts though I did  loose all of my respect for Neil Patrick Harris ( Barney, How I met Your Mother) when he got ill and shit in two top hats. You gain respect for Seth McFarlene for not just being a lonely sheep herder but, going against Liam Neeson in a film  where he doesn't say 'I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.' and it turns out Seth McFarlene wins. With a damsel not in distress who save Seth McFarlene from distress and helps him to be a proper man while accidental falling in love with him. A surprising fun movie in parts though it is not quite as good as Seth's previous films and the amount of ways people could have died in the West actually surprises you.
I rate this film a 14/20.

Walk of Shame (2014)

When you watch the Hangover and you think ahh that's pretty bad well this is the same but with a woman. She gets absolutely sloshed, called a Prossie, her car repossessed, sleeps with a random man (James Marsden), makes friends with drug dealers who's names are Pooki and Scrilla who only know the woman as Bitch from the news (Elizabeth banks) and she ends up running across a motorway. Her dreams way to be on the news as a new reporter not as a crazy woman in a Yellow dress. With a pretty familiar cast, some exciting and hilarious moments this film is a triumph to Elizabeth Banks Filmography even though it is not her typical character which recently she doesn't seem to have due to her trying all bases and scoring major blockbusters in those accreditations to her name.
    I rate this film a 17/20.

The Other Woman (2014)

It is bad enough when you find out that your husband is cheating on you with a younger sexier model ( Cameron Diaz) but to find out that he is having an affair over that one with a blonde twenty something bikini ready body babe (Kate Upton). So this house wife (Leslie Mann) tries to get her own back by finding out he's being using her to commit fraud she gets him back with old fashioned tricks and she really good new ones. The pranks do make you feel sorry for him in the end though only a little bit. With a mainly well known cast and some hilarious moments it is one of the best comedies of 2014 so far. I rate this film a 18/20.

Vampire Academy (Film) (2014 )

This is one of the best book adaptions of 2014 from the best selling author Richelle Mead. The main character, Rose, has a best friend who is a Moroi (full vampire) princess whereas Rose is a Damphir (half vampire) who has to protect the princess as their life's pathway as well as it is her choice. Btu the other year they ran away from the Vampire Academy because a threat was there but what. They are taken back there and Rose falls in love with her hot gym teacher and they have to work their way back up the viscous food chain. Though it has a non-famous cast they are brilliant actors and awesome stunts and at some moments the characters passion ends up flooding into your emotion and you feel as though you are right there with them wanting to fight by their side. I rate this film a 19/20 though it missed some of the major parts in the book out.

Veronica Mars (2014) (Movie)

When recovering your life to have a lawyer job in the big apple if must be hard from when Veronica is used to hunted down cheating husbands with their pants down and sitting in her car with her Camera as her main friend. Now, just as she was accepting her new job at Truman-Mann she recieved a call from her old boyfriend Logan and he has been framed for his girlfriend's murder. Though, it seems there is more to the framing of her murder. As the pieces start to click into place of this thousand piece puzzle the larger picture becomes clear to Mars with the help of her old friends Kristen Bell plays a major part in uncovering in several murders and conspiracies. To see weevil a changed man, Mac being less of a geeky outcast and more a awesome geeky best friend of V Mars. With the original cast to help make this amazing film happen with on the edge of your seat hoping that they don't die scenes to go with some lighter comedic moment from the one and only Dick Casablanca.

I rate this film a 18/20.

Man of Steel (Movie)

If your parents sent you to a different planet the day you were born, what would you think? But, what if they did that to save you? Would that change your mind on your answer to the first question? Well, that means you might have an idea of what must be running through Kal-EL (Clark Kent AKA Superman)'s mind all of the time. But, when he is trying to cope with the fact that he will never be a typical human being with the urge to save humans from any disaster from what they may be in, there is more that he has to worry about and that is falling in love, saving the planet Earth from mass destruction and making the choice between Lois Lane and the human species or the entire last Krypton inhabitants to save ,what should he do??
With effects which can blow any everyday human or Kryptonite away (with a red cape or not). A brilliant adaption of the old series and the legend-wait for it -dary comic book series you will have to watch it. Though, according to some people it was a let down to 'Superman begins' though when you compare it to the original series it is more dark yet more exciting than ever.
        I rate this film 16/20.

Divergent (Movie)

As some awesome book obsessed minion may have already found out. This movie is based on the first book of the trilogy written by Veronica Roth. It has been made into a brilliant film with a lot of gut-wrenching scenes which nearly made me cry and when you compare it to the other Dystopian films which are out at the moment it follow suit amazingly. It has been confirmed that they have already started to film, Insurgent, which is supposed to hit screens next year. Though, it has not been confirmed yet if the last book in the trilogy is going to be made into a 2-part film like Twilight Breaking dawn, Hunger Games Mockingjay and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, did.
But, when you don't fit into your society, have to move to a totally different way of life and realise that you are more than an outcast you are indeed, Divergent. Well this is the life of Tris. With falling in love her instructor, shooting a best-friend and defying all odds of what people may think of her she goes against it and society. With a well-known cast such as Kate Winslet, Theo James, Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley and much more.
I rate this amazing film adaptation a 18/20.

The Lego Movie (2014)

Being an ordinary Lego worker in an ordinary worker is awesome for Emmett because everything is awesome but when he finds the piece of resistance, fights Bad cop and Lord Business it seems a very good film in total when you find out that it is the first ever proper full length film of Lego. It seemed as though they stressed the film so to as make it full length as well as more exciting for the younger generation. The evil man President Business (Will Ferrell) has Bad cop (Liam Neeson) who is always trying to prevent Emmett and Wyldstyle from reaching their goal to prevent the worlds end on Taco Tuesday. It is brilliant for kids though anyone older than the age of 13 may believe that it was stretching it on the one-liners. I rate this film a 12/20.

Teardrop (Book) (2013)

When you see you mother die right in front of you it is bad but, when your best friend turns evil and the new guy in your life, who is really cute but mysterious, keeps on coming back like a persistent stalker only to tell you that you are not normal and neither was your mother that can come as a shock. As Eureka came to find out that if she just simply cried she may bring about the rise of Atlantis and the fact that this has nearly happened several times over in her history of woman ancestors. The book seems boring at first though once you get into it you seem to be relieved you stayed with it due to it being a bad starter. Even with a book series under her belt she should be able to start a book more successfully though her Fallen series did not start well either. In total it is a very good book and it seems a good accomplishment to reach one of the top 5 in Waterstones top young adult books. With some myths mixed in with romance by the end you cannot take your eyes away from the book and when you finish it you regret that she has not published the next book yet , Waterfall.
       I rate this book a 17/20.

Autumn rose: Dark Heroine (2014) ( Book)

When you think being an outcast for just simply being sage is bad enough but, once his royal highness decides to go to your school as well it start to turn for the worse for the Duchess Autumn- Rose. But, when humans start to turn against everyone, a prince falling for a duchess and when vampires seemed to have just kidnapped a human who now we know is also a dark Heroine. With some action packed scenes, love filled moment and some grammatical errors. A congratulatory award towards Abigail Gibbs on creating such a magnificent piece of artwork formed from a abundance of words which it seems filled a balance within the literary world. Even though Gibbs has worked her way up from just a blogger to an International best seller it seems that she has indeed bite off more than she could chew and then well and truly swallowed it. This book is written by Abigail Gibbs and was published by Harper Voyager.
I will rate this film a 17/20.

World War Z (Film) (2013)

As well as this is a book written by Max Brooks this amazing film hit screens last year. It was one of the best disaster/ horror films of 2013. It follows the family of Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) who has to help the government and the world in finding the cure and to finding who patient X was or where they came from. He has to be chased of rooftops, almost dies, injects himself in a virus which makes himself invisible to the Zombies and has to achieve the largest challenge which appears in his life which is trying to find and go back to his family. With a false sense of security to start this film the zombie apocalypse seemed very on edge especially when coming to terms with how much Brad Pitt's character had to go through to get back his family. Though, it did seem that Brad Pitt did forget rule #1 when killing zombies 'Double tap'! Always go back for a second try on the walking dead because they may rise again and kill you or just make you their next living Happy meal. This major blockbuster has extremely violent scenes of zombies which seemed to add a mass of scary and dramatic effect to this film in my opinion it is one of the best adaptations I have seen of the action and sci-fi books. The amazing cast goes well with amazing graphics though the film was predictable in parts. and the CGI might have gone way over the top in some scenes which added to the overall Hysteria which causes you to feel more emotion for the characters than you would for any other apocalyptic film.
      I rate this film a 17/20.

Bachelorette (2012)

If you think the Hangover is really extreme, well think again because there is a new movie in town and it has knocked the Hangover’s ship way out of the ocean. As well as it knocks Bridesmaids out of the water. With people naked swimming (isla fisher and Kyle Bornheimer) , ripping wedding dresses and then trying to fix it again (Lizzy Caplan), ruining lives and basically an all around mess about. With the brilliant actors of Kirsten Dunst, Rebel Wilson, Isla Fisher and James Marsden. It has the best story line known to man, incredibly cringey bits as well as the best acting I've seen since I watched Love Actually and that is one of my favourite films directed by Richard Curtis. This film is directed by Leslye Headland who is new onto the scene of directing and this was her first big hit.
  I rate this film a 17/20.

Bridesmaids (2011)

Many things can go wrong at you wedding especially for these ladies. The female version of the Hangover just with more things going wrong. There are major things like trying on wedding dresses and eating dodgy  burritos at the same time, this does not go down well. There are things other than that that you should never do like; have puppies in a goody bag presents especially when you invite your crazy future sister-in-law (Melissa McCarthy) who ends up stealing all of the dogs. Or even things like using subs (as in the sandwich) in the bedroom that also was used by Megan the crazy future Sister-in-law. The movie has really funny actresses like Kristen Wig , Melissa McCarthy and Maya Rudolph. It has the most hilarious jokes and the weirdest storyline ever. This film is directed by Paul Feig.
     I rate this film 18/20.

Oz the great and powerful (2013)

Everyone knows the classic story of ‘The wizard of Oz’ well this is the story of before that. How, the great wizard (James Franco)  got to Oz and how he got a persona being a wizard.  How a kind witch could turn into the Evil green witch (Mila Kunis). The CGI in the film was the best ever I’ve seen as well as a well known cast the story was very good with a brilliant twist. This film was directed by Sam Raimi.
 I rate this film a 15/20.
