Goosebumps (2015)

If you have read the books before hand, you should know some of R.L. Stine's monsters; Slappy the ventriloquist doll, the abdominal snowman of Pasadena and the Lawn Gnomes. So the story follows a kid who moves to a new town after his dad has died when his next door neighbour is an attractive girl and her dad is R.L.Stine. But, when he tries to save her from her 'abusive' father it turns out nothing looks quite as it seems. so if you open a manuscript the monster from inside comes out. SO what would you do if every Goosebumps monster ever created was trolling around your town. with some great up and coming actors and some well known actors like Jack Black and Jillian Bell.

I rate this film a 17/20.

The unfortunate subtitles for childish teenagers

So today in my Media lesson we were watching the film , Cabin in the woods, to gather codes and conventions about horror films and we do so with the subtitles on but we have reached to a bit where one of teenagers is about to take her blouse off and then a man controlling the pheromone levels in the air with a noises of him and then the subtitle explains the noise [readjusting knob].
Well my class who consists of 16 and 17 year old felt the irony was high at this moment and did not stop laughing for a good 5 minutes.

45 jelly beans

So in my psychology lesson the other week we were learning about conformity. There was a test performed ages ago where a group sat around a table and they guessed how many jelly beans were in the picture. So we decided to do it as a class.

So I guessed around 150 jelly beans , whilst I was trying to count them, and then people escalated upwards up to 500 jelly beans. But, then it came to getting the opinion of our friend Peachey and she did good and decided to go with her original opinion and not adhere to conformity. 45! That was her answer. Even though just by looking at the picture you could see there was more than that.
Though Kudos to her for sticking with it even though she knew she possibly was wrong, the probability that anyone was actually correct in our class was near impossible but, hey.

Maze Runner 2: The Scorch Trials (2015)

So if you have watched the prequel then you know that a group of teenagers were locked in a maze until they could figure out how to escape and they escaped. So now they are on a mission to escape from wicked but, what if this sense of security is just another form of Wicked well they will find out. With some zombie like creatures that run throughout the film is does seem more of a zombie apocalypse film rather than a dystopian teen survivalist film.
Even though I have read the book series written by James Dashner I see why they did some plot variations and it does seem they were for the films greater good.
With over $275.3 million in box office it as decreased in the aims in box office total since the first Maze Runner film got over $345.5 million in box office.
   I rate this film a 17/20.

The Man from U.N.CL.E (2015)

Originally written by Ian Flemming, the author of James Bond, wrote the book for this. If you have seen the original TV show of Man from U.N.C.L.E then you know the story but for those who don't it's a film about an American spy ( Henry Cavill) and a Russian KGB agent (Armie Hammer) going undercover to help discover and find nuclear war heads with the help of a mechanic (Alicia Vikander) from east Germany. Though there is a popping up of the English getting a touch down with Hugh Grant playing their operative.
This intense action film is set in 1963 so everything is very swinging and that James bond many girlfriends or one night stands appear here. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie who brought you Sherlock Holmes and Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels.
The final two minutes of film also leave it in a way that may say that they will be doing a sequel.

    I rate this film a 17/20.

Fantastic Four (2015)

So if you have watched the previous Fantastic Four Film you should know what its about, a group of people go into space and get his by an energy shower and get powers well that is not the story told by this new film and you know what, It makes it better.
Reid Richards (Milles Teller) invents a teleporter with his new friend Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell) then when they enter their teleporter into the school's science fair they meet Sue (Kate Mara) and Franklin Storm. This is the gateway which Reid needed to get into making his teleporter work. With the help of Johnny Storm (Michael B Jordan), Sue, Ben and Victor Doom (Toby Kebbell) this may or may not work successfully.
With this amazing cast of up and coming actor it shows a totally different perspective and a total different story is thrown on the Fantastic Four.
I rate this film a 17/20.

The Final Girls (2015)

So everyone knows the basic summer camp slasher film narrative? All the stupid people or the people who have had sex die first and the geeky virgin dies last. Well remember that if you ever accidently get stuck in a film.
After seeing her mum die next to her, Max ( Taissa Farmiga) tries the best to remember her for the good times and that consists of avoiding her mum's best selling film, Camp Bloodbath. Yet she gets roped into seeing the Camp BloodBath marathon by her friends Step-Brother and when a fire is set in the cinema Max and 4 of her friends are forced into the screen of the film.
They have to battle the murderer, Billy Murphy, to the death but only a true virgin can kill him and guess who that is left down to, Max.
With love forming between Max and one of her friends, a love forming between Max and her mum's character in the film it is harder to beat the villain than thought. It has an amazing cast and some hilarious moments.

I rate this film a 17/20.
